About the artist.

Jefferson Clay is an award winning singer/songwriter and Alt-Pop artist based in Austin, Texas. A pandemic success story, the songster from San Antonio released his first few singles in 2020, to immediate acclaim from music blogs and Spotify’s “Fresh Finds”, “Fresh Finds: Pop”, and “New Pop Picks” editorial playlists alike.

“Genre, schmenre. It’s a little Pop, a little Indie, and a touch of Alt-Rock and R&B. The goal has always been ‘shout-in-you-car’ melodies I want you to swear you’ve always known the lyrics to.” That’s how the 20-something year old describes his music. “It’s cliche I know, but I want these songs to transport you to another world, another place in time. That’s what all of my favorite artists have done for me. When we listen to great music, we’re all astronauts.”

In his short artist career, Jefferson has shared the stage with Austin staples like Nané & Alpha Rev, and the national stage with the likes of MisterWives, Dent May, and believe it or not, REO Speedwagon. Jefferson Clay has made several national television appearances, including an appearance as a challenger on Fox’s “The Four: Battle for Stardom”, and ABC’s “American Idol”.

Jefferson’s upcoming debut LP, “Elsewhere. Somehow. Somewhere.” co-produced with Victor Gaspar (Matt Maeson, Houndmouth, BLK ODYSSY) is expected in 2024. The album features session work from long time band members and collaborators Chris Doege (drums, percussion) and Charlie Strickland (bass guitar). The first few releases have garnered over 3 million streams across platforms, 70,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and a fast-growing fan base eagerly anticipating what’s to come.
